... She was planning to buy one and she was talking about it in her letters to Eliza Orzeszkowa, however she wasn’t able to put her dreams into reality, that’s why the Jubilee Committees from Krakow, Poznań, Lwów  and Warszawa  came with the help. The committees looked through 36 different villages and finally chose small manor from 18 c with a huge park in Żarnowiec. The manor was bought from Jadwiga Biecheńska. Konopnica came to Żarnowiec with her friend – a painter Maria Dulębianka on 8 of September in 1903. However Konopnicka had to leave her beautiful Żarnowiec in 1910. Because of the poor health the poet decided to stay in one of the best sanatoriums in Lviv, where she died in October the same year. Konopnicka was buried on Łyczaków Cemetery in Lviv. In 1956, Konopnicka’s daughter Zofia the only inheritor made Żarnowiec a Polish National Heritage.
