The Palace of Greek Catholic Archbishops
In various times the metropolitans’ chambers hosted such guests as Austrian Emperor Joseph II, leader of the Polish liberation movement Tadeusz Kosciuszko, famous adventurer Giacomo Casanova, and well-known scientist and regional ethnographer Tadeusz Czacki. The metropolitans’ chambers became especially famous as the centre of Lvov’s high life in the 80s of the 18th century, when Katarzyna Kosakowska of the Potocki family moved into them.
A memorial plate was installed in 1991 on the wall near the palace entrance to commemorate Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky’s stay here.
