Svätý Kríž

The wooden Baroque furniture together with the remarkable wooden
Baroque altar from 1693 with the painting of Christ's Transformation were designed to inspire awe. Also the pulpit standing on log foundations supported, as if by a Baroque angel is unique both in terms of visual impression and acoustics. The altar and the pulpit were made by the woodcarver J. Lerch of Kežmarok.
The two-storied choir emporia in the interior of the church are adorned by Biblical paintings and along with a big chandelier of Venetian glass they create a charming atmosphere. Part of the church is also an independently standing wooden tower serving as a
belfry. It was addend to the church later.

Museum of Liptov Village - Pribylina
Precious samples of sacral and secular folk architecture are the Gothic-Renaissance manor house of Parížovce and an Early-Gothic church of the Virgin Mary from Liptovská Mara. The manor house is a fine example of some of the oldest landowners' architecture of the Liptov region and various architectural details including the Late-Gothic wall paintings will certainly attract the attention of the tourist. The church itself is much older, its foundations were constructed in the Romanesque style and laid down probably in the 12th century. It was rebuilt in the second half of the 13th century, later expanded, and in the 17th century the tower was added to it. The village school comprising also the teacher's apartment of Valaská Dubová and exhibition of old beehives in the orchard next to the local school will also intrigue the visitor.
Within the museum complex there is a
training centre for folk crafts
offering samples of folk craft and arts (weaving, bobbin-lacing, wood, metal and leather-working, the manufacturing of wicker or straw baskets, etc)., as well as the typical folk costumes.
Regular events organized in the museum are the
Sunday of Shepherd-Ovenálie held last Sunday  of May, Sunday of Children held in June, the Sunday of Compatriots in July, the Sunday of Bee-Keepers in August, the Day of St. Hubert in September, and Harvest Thanksgiving in October, as well as Liptov Christmas
 in December.
   The museum also has a
zoo that concentrates on farm animals and poultry including horse breeding where horse riding is possible.

Grand Castle Hrad and Kaštieľ Liptovský Hrádok
The head of the Zvolen county
Donč built the castle at the beginning of the 14th century. It was one of the military buildings guarding an important trade route along the river Váh. One of the legends testifies that the castle was connected by underground passages
to the fortifications near Liptovský Ján and even the castle Liptovský hrad.
Later it became the seat of administration of the castle estate owned by the Kings of Hungary until the mid-15th century. The posterior owners (among them the noble families of Zápoľský, Thurzo, Ballas and others) received it as a gift. The Castle was heavily damaged during the Rebellions of the Estates at the turn of the 17th and 18th century. It is now under reconstruction.
   The
Renaissance manor was added to the Castle structure in the 17th century. After a recent reconstruction it offers a stylish accommodation, food and unconventional conference rooms
.
Access: on foot from Liptovský Hrádok (it takes 10 min); driving in the direction of Pribylina is possible as far as the Castle.

The most important summer holiday resort on the shores of the Liptovská Mara dam is the village Liptovský Trnovec. A modern Mara camping in Liptovský Trnovec on the shore of the reservoir is the favourite of water sport fans. The beach, the renting of sport equipment and excellent conditions for yachting and wind-surfing are the assets of this sought after holiday centre, offering also a good base for trips to the Chočské vrchy mountains and the Západné Tatry mountains.

The summer season starts in middle of June and ends in September. Part of the offer is also navigation by boat. The Aquapark Tatralandia opened all the year round and accommodation, as well as the Thermal park Bešeňová are additional attractions situated very near the reservoir.
